Sabrina grimaced as her daughter wailed again, interrupting the movie and bringing many, fierce glares their way. She offered her popcorn, but the baby just tossed the kernels into the air and away from her. She tried a lollipop, but her daughter refused to take it. In desperation, she looked around, saw that noone could really see them for the dark shadows of the theater, and zapped in a tiny, black kitten.
She felt someone watching and turned to see a burly man glowering over the seats at them. “There’s nothing to see here,” she told him, glaring back. He finally leaned back in his seat about the same time that her baby touched noses with the kitten. She should have made it a plush, but her instincts had gone with real instead. She glanced anxiously around them, but nobody else seemed to be paying them attention.
“You’re wrong,” Harvey whispered, reaching out, grabbing his wife’s hand, and pulling her back up against him. “There’s a wonderful mother to be seen.”
“Yeah, but if I’m not careful, I’ll get us thrown out. And Salem’s not going to like it.”
Harvey shrugged. “He’ll get over it,” he said and kissed her.
