A Good Day!

The bloody heat is already topping 100 today and that's BEFORE the heat index is factored in! It's killing us -- we've got to figure out some way to get this trailer with a tin roof to cool down this year!

But other than that, it was a really good day, even if I am completely exhausted now and barely able to resist the urge to nap. (And yes, I'm resisting, because I still have some cyber work I need to get done, and I'm not talking fandom stuff but other stuff, like seeing if I can find a better air conditioner or something for us.)

Yesterday Mrs. O made a very valid point. As I mentioned before, I wasn't able to take the meds they prescribed me, because they made me sick. I told them I hadn't been able to Monday, and they were like, "Oh, that's fine." When I told O, she was like, "Well, maybe it's fine for them since it's not THEIR body. Girl, you better call those people up and demand they give you something better!" Well, the doctor wasn't in his office yesterday, because it's his surgery day, but Drew was running by WalMart and I got her to talk to a pharmacist we know. She put me on Aleve, and I immediately started feeling better.

And the stitches started to let go and dissolve, as he had told me they would. But he did NOT tell me they would be BLEEDING. I was getting ready to freak out, but the office was already closed. So I googled and turns out it was normal and totally to be expected. The more they released, the better I have felt, although I still hurt and still have to stay on top of the Aleve.

This morning, for the first time since surgery, I was able to get and enjoy a really good bath! And . . . DREW TOOK A SHOWER AND IT DIDN'T HURT HER TO STAND ON HER BARE FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had to go to the local VA today and prove to them that the IV treatments are working, so they'll continue to pay for them. Thankfully, the nurse was great, and she actually listened not just to Drew but to me as well. I also took advantage to get some updated pictures, although for some reason the one with her toes has yet to come through.

She's still got a long ways to go, but as y'all should be able to see below, she's come a long ways -- and we're only halfway through the treatments!

Old, taken before the treatments began:

Newly taken today:

Thank the good Lord for the improvements in both of us!!!!!!!!!!!! He still works miracles today, y'all, and we are living proof of that!!!!!!!

Sometimes -- it doesn't happen often, but it does happen every once in a while -- I'll find money in places where there was none before. I always feel like Daddy's sending it, because he always understood how much we love to go eat Chinese. That happened earlier this week, but Drew didn't feel like eating and I didn't feel like going out. But we went and had lunch today -- and some amazing friends (we THINK we know who but can not be certain) paid for our lunch!!!!!!!! I have NEVER had that happen before!!!!!!!

Then, on the way home, we went by my store -- and I had not one, not two, but THREE of my girls RUN out to see me!! And I have NEVER see one of them run before, would not have thought she could move so fast, and most certainly did not know how much she cared about me. I tell y'all between my work family and my LJ family and my family at the Chinese restaurant we frequent, I'm really feeling the LOVE. <3 <3 <3 Thank y'all for all YOU all do to make me feel it!!!!!!!! And for all your prayers and good wishes to keep the healing coming for both Drew and me!!!!!!!!!
