Logan dug the soles of his boots into the cracking floor of the school. His knuckles were already white. His claws popped out instinctively as he gripped the wall to keep from being blown away. Slowly, determinedly, he inched further into the room. His every hair stood out on end; his clothes were already ripped. Still, he made progress -- slow, excruciating progress, but progress nonetheless.
He couldn’t get to Ororo’s side soon enough, but when he did, he had to shout to be heard over her latest cyclone. “SORRY, DARLIN’!” He popped the needle into her skin before she could sneeze again. For just a moment, she gazed down upon him with silent gratitude. Then her head jerked back as another oncoming sneeze rocked her.
Logan braced for the worst. The mansion was barely standing between Ororo, Piotr, Bobby, and Bishop. Instead of sneezing, Ororo slumped. Logan jumped and caught her just before she could hit. Gazing down upon her, he pushed her ivory hair away from her unconscious face.
“I fear this virus may be the end of us yet.” Hank loped into the room. His blue fur looked as bad as Logan’s scraggly, gray hairs.
“No kiddin’, bub.”
