“The boy will have the eggs,” the Bunny intoned, his ominous-sounding voice seeming to echo all around the worried father.
“Like Hell you’re pelting my boy with eggs!”
“I’m not going to pelt him, human,” the Bunny retorted, sniffing disdainfully. John’s eyes widened with every wag of his long ears. “He’s going to delight in chocolate eggs, candy eggs, and eggs filled with toys! But you, on the other paw -- “ His cotton tail jerked furiously. “Stand in the way of my business again, and you will feel all Easter upon you!”
In answer, John levelled his gun at the bunny.
“KI-YA!” Eggs started pelting him from all directions. His gun misfired. John hit his head.
When he came to, Sammy was exclaiming with joy and making strange cooing noises. “Dad,” Dean looked worriedly down at him, “you okay?”
John nodded through the haze.
“We found you like this, and then Sammy found those baskets.” Dean pointed at the table behind them. “Should I destroy them?”
“No,” John muttered, though sounding uncertain. He rolled to his feet. Everything hurt. Something crunched under his foot, and he looked down at a broken eggshell. “Damn.”
“What is it?”
“The Easter Bunny is real.”
