She feels the passion flaming between them even when they’re just glaring at each other, but in moments like these, she’s almost overcome with the fire. She turns to the right, her back still against her fellow Slayer’s, and dusts yet another Vampire. When no more seem to be forthcoming, she stops, lowers her stake a little, and actually pouts. “What? No more?”
She hears a sound and turns swiftly, stake raised once again. She stops just short of bringing it down on B, who’s looking at her like . . . like Faith doesn’t know what. She’s never been looked at like that before. “What?” she demands, not yet lowering her weapon even though it’s pointed at the blonde’s throat.
Buffy shakes her head. “You. I swear we really are so much alike!” So much alike that it scares her sometimes. She’s said those very same words Faith just spoke a moment ago. They should be glad no more Vamps are coming, glad they’ve won the day yet again, but as Faith would say, she’s still jonesing for the battle.
Looking down into her green eyes, Faith wonders what B would do if she just reached out and touched her -- didn’t hit her, didn’t strike her down, just touched her gently, maybe brought her in for a kiss.
“Faith?” Buffy can practically hear the other girl’s heart pounding. Tentatively, she touches the hand still holding a weapon at her throat.
Faith drops the stake. “B -- “ she starts to say, her mouth dry, but suddenly her mouth’s wet again as Buffy’s lips pounce on it. Faith’s taken by surprise, but she doesn’t hesitate, wrapping her arms around the other Slayer and giving as good as she gets. This is what they’ve both been waiting for for so long, and neither lets up even when the dawn comes.
