“Problem?” Dorothy asks, smirking, holding a bite of caramel apple cheesecake tantalizing inches from Blanche’s pursed lips.
Blanche’s eyes flash up at her. “This wasn’t th’ way this was supposed to happen!”
“The best laid plans of mice and men.”
“Ah am neither a mouse or a man, Ah assure you, Dorothy Zbornak!”
“Believe me,” Dorothy counters, “after last night, I know exactly what, and who, you are, Blanche Devereaux.” She pauses, the cheesecake bar right so close to Blanche’s lips that it’s brushing against her. “Unless you want me to leave?”
“Hell no!” Blanche closes her mouth around the cheesecake bar and Dorothy’s fingers and sucks gently, slowly drawing her lips over both food and skin.
The shiver she feels pass through Dorothy is worth her own uncertainty. She’s always thought she’d have the upper hand when they finally made love, which has been inevitable ever since the first moment she cast eyes upon this fantastic woman who is more man than most of the men who’ve wooed Blanche, but Dorothy turned the tables on her last night. Maybe it isn’t so bad, she thinks, not to be the leader, and caves as Dorothy kisses her again.
