Quill looks sheepish, his hands still around Rocket’s furry throat. Rocket’s bares his teeth and growls. “I am Groot.” Groot quickly snatches his limbs away from Peter’s legs. He looks the most bashful of all.
“Really, guys? You’re even getting Groot caught up in your mess now? He’s just a baby! He doesn’t know what he’s doing!”
“HEY!” Peter yells. Having just bitten Peter, Rocket snatches out of his grip and springs several feet away.
“Yeah, and I ain’t had a rabies shot, either, like ever!” Rocket laughs.
“I oughta -- “
“Do nothing.” Gamora grabs Peter’s hand as he’s reaching for Rocket. “Honestly, is it too much of an unreasonable expectation for you two to get along for the short trip in which we have royalty in the ship?!”
Rocket snorts. “Royalty smoilty.”
“I didn’t start it!” Peter complains.
“I don’t care who started it! I’m stopping it!”
Gamora whirls around as Drax yanks Rocket up by his neck’s scruff. “What? He was about to open the ship!”
“Really?” Growling, Gamora slaps her own forehead. “The next time we have an escort mission, it’s Drax and myself only!”
“But -- “
“I don’t care where you go, Peter. Just go!”
