They look down through broken, shuttered windows at the outside world. Two children stand, hold in hand, looking up. They seem innocent, but the watchers know better. There is no man, woman, or child who is innocent.
There is none without pain or sorrow. That is why they left the outside world and will forever remain here, shuttered away from outsiders, closed away from humanity, safe within an old home crumbling down around them even as they, too, crumble and eventually dissolve, their bones into the old walls, their cries into the wind, and their souls, ever untouched, to freedom...
