"Do you ever look at it differently?" he asks, scrambling to be close to her as the sun sinks lower .
She looks out over the darkening, little town that she's supposed to call home for however long her family stays here. She knows they won't stay for long -- they never do --, but she plans to stay forever, even if Angel Grove holds the same, boring, close-minded people when the sun goes down as it does in the bright light of day. "Yes."
The smile she gives him makes Zack wish again that she isn't gay, but Trini's sexual orientation is just another part of her. Unlike her blood family, her family here doesn't hold her differences against her. They're all a part of who she is, and they love her just the way she is. They're the reason why Angel Grove, and her life, are different and why this place is finally a home. When her blood family moves on, she'll stay, even if she has to run away to do so.
"Trini?" Kim calls, concerned, as she, Jason, and Billy catch up with them. "You okay?"
Trini's smile is more brilliant than the setting sun. "Never better!"
