If she had a tail, it would be swishing like crazy right about now. She can practically feel that invisible extension of her body as she paces, muttering underneath her breath. She shouldn't be here. This isn't her fight. It isn't her cause or her babies'. She shouldn't be here, but yet here she is any way.
She looks up as her partner slides into the room. He embraces her, kisses her lips softly, quickly, before turning to stand beside her. The enemy will be here any moment. She could run easily. She could leave him, leave his companions to die, but she knows she won't. She's here until the end, just as prepared to die as any one else in this room full of heroes yet for another reason entirely.
She glances at the man beside her. If they live through this, he's going to owe her big. She stifles a sigh, stills her invisible tail from swishing yet again, reaching out, and holds his hand. He's the reason she's here. He's the reason for most of what she does these days. She's always said he's like catnip, but being under his influence is worse than her favorite drug!
