There are many things about today's society that Castiel simply does not understand but Dean and Sam both take for granted, such as the man on the street corner they just passed. The brothers didn't even glance him a look, but Castiel glances back again. Dean looks up at the sound of fluttering wings he can not see.
If the eyes truly are windows to the soul, this man is in desperate need of help, as is the dog he holds his arms around in the cardboard box where they sit. Castiel meets those eyes, remembers an empty lot in another town they passed, and moves the man and dog with just a thought.
The man, after a thorough search, falls to his knees in the new house that is now his. "Thank you, God." The dog barks and wags his tail.
Dean smiles, casting a knowing glance at Castiel. "Sap."
Castiel beams back, though he can not help a slight tease. "I do not know what tree sap has to do with this."
Dean's laughter is the greatest reward for which he could ask. He looks back at the empty cardboard box and lets the wind blow it away.
