He runs his tongue over his deadly, sharp fangs as the old feeling comes to him. He recognizes it immediately for what it is as it wraps its flames around his entire body and sinks deep into the place where he once had a soul. Nothing else can give him what he wants tonight, but even he can't get what he needs.
He could go after Buffy. They could bring another building down tonight, but they'd both be left unsatisfied again in the end. Not even the sweetness of a willing Slayer's blood can quell the craving burning inside him now, so instead he wraps his own fingers around his long cock in the silence of his crypt and strokes himself while trying to remember.
He shuts his eyes and winces slightly as he feels powerful blows pummeling him once more. Angel and he fought more than they did anything else, but there were times when those fights led to something else, something gentler, something wilder, something more passionate, something greater than either of them ever had before or after. He remembers those searing kisses. He recalls Angel's hands roaming his body, not hitting or striking but loving, and he moans.
"Angel." The name resonates through his crypt. The night wind whips it out beyond his reach, but it will never reach Angel. Even if it did, he'll never understand. He'll never want Spike. Spike will never be good enough for what he's now become.
That's the true reason why Spike knows he'll always be love's bitch. Buffy is a distraction. Drusilla served him well for a time. But his master will always be Angel. He'll always long for him, but he knows, even as he cums to the memories of what they once shared, he'll never have him again.
