"Don't come knocking. Geez, Buck! I'm not a kid! This ain't my first rodeo! I know what I'm doing!"
The older man's mustache twitches. "Really? And what do ya do if ya see Chris and Vin go in a room where ya know there ain't no women?"
"What the Hell're you talking about?"
Buck quirks an eyebrow at him. "Really? Ya don't know? Thought ya knew what this was all about?"
"I do, but Chris and Vin -- "
"Uh huh," Buck interrupts him with a nod. JD stares at him in disbelief. "And Josiah and Nate."
"What about Ez?"
His partner's blue eyes sparkle. "Ain't no tellin' what the gambler's gonna take, or who."
JD shifts in his seat to meet his gaze. "And you?" he asks point blank.
Buck's eyes really twinkle this time. "Whoever I want. Hell, kid, I might even find you a proper hat this time."
JD blushes and lowers his gaze, but when Buck looks back across to his partner in a little bit, the kid's grinning. Grinning wide, he increases their speed. It's about time he taught the kid a thing or two.
