Bobby glowers at Hank as he turns yet another page in his book. “I don’t know how you can go all day and keep your nose stuck in that thing,” he mutters.

“It has me absorbed,” Henry replies, reading swiftly and turning the page again. “I always knew he was a fascinating person, but I never realized that so many of the things he endured because of his skin color so easily mirror the same painful actions of prejudices we have endured because of our mutations, or others of our other kind have endured because of their sexual orientation.”

“That’s exactly why I don’t know how you can still be reading it!”

Hank frowns, his furry, blue brows shifting adorably and making Bobby even more impatient. “Why?” he questions. “Because he did not stand against all prejudices? He would have, had he lived to see today’s world. The fact that he did not does not mean he was any less of a person.”

“I don’t give an icicle about -- “

“Honestly, Robert, cease your complaining. Go play your video game or something. I know you find those things fascinating although I have little tolerance for the lack of mental capability that today’s games require. Still, I recognize that there are no uninteresting things, only uninterested people. To each their own, in other words, my dear. I can read my book, and you can -- “

A snowball unexpectedly hits Hank’s book, knocking it from his furry hands. His spectacles almost fall off of his face, but he catches them just in time. “Robert!” he cries in dismay.

“What do I have to do, Hank?! Pour some chemicals on me? Dance naked in a test tube?! I’ve watched you reading that stupid book all day!”

“What on Earth are you trying to say?”

“I’m saying the anticipation is killing me! When the Hell are you coming to bed?!”

“Well, when you put it that way . . . “ Hank begins to purr as he slides his spectacles into a pocket on his crisp, white jacket. He spins around on the bar to which he’d been holding with his feet as he read upside down, then flips through the air. While somersaulting through the space leading to their bed, he swiftly disrobes, landing naked beside his very anxious, and impatient, lover. “You only had to ask, dearrr hearrrt.” He’s still purring when he starts kissing Bobby.
